Australian racer Matt Brabham has made his return to the wheel of a Supercar, with a brief stint in the Preston Hire Racing Holden ZB Commodore today in practice one at Barbagallo Raceway today.
Brabham, who has spent the last month in America, completed the first four laps of the session in the Preston Hire-backed Holden before handing it back to full time driver and PIRTEK Enduro Cup teammate, Lee Holdsworth.
The 24 year old, who is racing in the Speed Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks this weekend, finished seventh in their first practice session earlier today.
Brabham later went on to top Stadium SUPER Trucks Qualifying ahead of tomorrow’s shootout that sets the grid for race one later in the afternoon.
The third generation racer currently leads the Stadium SUPER Trucks championship by 35 points after dominant wins in Long Beach, California and Adelaide, South Australia.
Australian and New Zealand residents can watch all of the Stadium Super Trucks action on FOX Sports this weekend, while those outside of Australia can watch live on their website (http://stadiumsupertrucks.com/live/).
Brabham’s 2018 campaigns are supported by the Preston Group, DeVilbiss, Gale Pacific, Coolaroo, The Boat Works, PIRTEK and the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, of which he is a proud ambassador.
WHAT MATT HAS TO SAY…
“It’s an awesome feeling to drive the Preston Hire Racing Holden again after the pre-season test in February,” said Brabham.
“The PIRTEK Enduro Cup is only a few months away and any chance you can get behind the wheel is an opportunity you need to take with both hands.”
“Thank you to everyone at Preston Hire Racing and Lee for getting me in the car today, it was a valuable learning experience in the lead up to our PIRTEK Enduro Cup campaign”.
“Tomorrow is race day for Stadium SUPER Trucks, we finished on top in qualifying today but tomorrow is what counts. My focus for the weekend now turns to keeping my championship lead with the DeVilbiss racing team.”
